Operations Analyst, Product Management (Financial Modeling/Cloud)

The Operations Analyst position reports to the Vice President of Cloud Strategy in the Cloud Business Unit. This position will be responsible for providing critical and diverse data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting and analytics to support theCloud Business Unit. This role will help enable strategic planning at the highest levels of the company as well as execution of strategy in areas including business case development, pricing, cloud transition economics, new market expansion, corporate development / M&A, and others. This role will also be responsible for developing and implementing processes to analyze and track performance against the strategy. This role will also actively support the presentation of financial and operating analysis to the Cloud Business Unit and the executive team.
In this role, the Operations Analyst will have extensive interaction will all levels of the organization and will be responsible for delivering value-added business analysis and meaningful financial/operational metrics that lead to insightful, accurate business decision making. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, able to prioritize tasks, and has excellent communication skills. They bring experience in financial analysis, business case development, product performance and profitability within a mid-sized public or privately-held, PE-backed software or technology company.
Principal
Responsibilities:
Develop financial models and associated analysis to drive better decision-making and prioritization within a cloud product portfolio
Data mining to support business case development, customer, market segmentation analysis
Provide finance support to all phases of product strategy and solution-level planning activities
Engage with senior operating leadership across many functional areas as a proactive, trusted business advisor to enable better decision-making and operational performance for improved financial outcomes
Develop a deep understanding of key business drivers & associated operations
Act as the 'single source of truth' for financials and forecast in business development and strategic planning
Scrutinize planning assumptions and develop alternatives
Identify under-performing areas of the business or gaps in portfolio and contribute to business case recommendations and operational improvements
Function as an expert, objective advisor to business line executives
Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement (planning/reporting and operational) across the business
Monitor and analyze bookings and revenue, track progress to plan against business case targets and long-term model
Support annual budget process and long-term modeling
Provide ad-hoc cost modeling, financial analysis and reporting
Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as needed
